We flashback to our favourite trio of cuteness, the kids. They are enjoying an orange pie. Wen Wen says that the orange pie smells nice, while Yu He says that the pie tastes better when it’s been heated. Yu He says that Mrs. Pu is really nice as she always prepares the kid’s favourite foods.
Wen Wen says that Mrs. Pu’s pie is the best while Le Chien complains that his mother is biased and favours the two girls. Yu He says that he should be grateful to them as it means that Le Chien gets to eat good food too. Le Chien says that his mother would make other things instead.
Wen Wen changes the subject as she wants to hear the end of the story for the Comeback Nunnery as Mrs. Pu didn’t finish it the last time. Le Chien says his mom never finishes because she doesn’t actually know the ending.
Le Chien says that last time his mom said that the two immortals went to live in the mountains and after some incident, the temple was built. Le Chien doesn’t know what happened after that but whatever it was, it sounded mysterious. Wen Wen tells the others that she can’t remember if Mrs. Pu said that they could make a wish at the temple.
Yu He is quick to say that it doesn’t matter since it’s just a legend. Le Chien chimes in to say that it’s just an urban legend that has been passed down. Apparently the only believer in the group is Wen Wen. Le Chien offers to make Wen Wen’s wish come true if she tells him what it is. Yu He hurriedly says that she wants a bicycle and she want Le Chien to do the dishes. Le Chien is adamant that he won’t help Yu He fulfill her wishes and that the offer wasn’t for her. The two then squabble about who is going to do the dishes.
Back in the present Le Chien says that he didn’t realize there was such a sad story behind the Comeback Nunnery. Grandma Hou Shan says that not everyone can see the lights of the Comeback Nunnery. She also says that not all those that go looking for the Comeback Nunnery return, knowing this do they still want to try and find it?
Le Chien doesn’t even think about it before he answers yes. Grandma Hou Shan goes to a cabinet to pull out a map. She then points to the location of where the Comeback Nunnery should be. Grandma Hou Shan doesn’t believe that they will find it though.
Later the two meet at the cafe with Ching Lung. Le Chien says that he’s checked the weather forecast and the next day is supposed to have good weather. Le Chien is really excited and wants to head out, but first he asks where Ching Lung’s boyfriend Yu Chen is. Ching Lung says he doesn’t know, his boyfriend may have graduated but he’s always so busy that Ching Lung never gets to see him.
As if the mention of his name summons him, Yu Chen enters the cafe. Yu Chen apologizes for being late and kisses the top of Ching Lung’s head before sitting down. Ching Lung points out that the picture of the map that Le Chien took is too blurry. Le Chien tells him that it’s not his fault, it’s because the map is really old.
Le Chien then gets a bit defensive saying that even though the paths on the map are blurry, it’s a good starting point. Le Chien also argues that without Amber they wouldn’t even have the map. Le Chien still upset dares his friend to try and find anything on the internet about the Comeback Nunnery. Ching Lung is going to argue more but his boyfriend stops him with a nudge, so Ching Lung gives in and the group starts planning their trip.
The group sets out in a mini van to get to their starting point. Ching Lung complains about the van’s broken AC. Le Chien says that they should just be grateful to Yu He’s brother for providing them with a vehicle. Ching Lung then starts filming and flirting with his boyfriend in the backseat.
Meanwhile Amber points out to Le Chien that he has too many amulets hanging from the rear view mirror of the van. (That’s very dangerous! Don’t hang things from the rear view mirror!) Le Chien says that it’s because of his Mom. Apparently she always gets stuff from the temples since Le Chien’s father died, she’ll even get protection amulets for his friends sometimes.
The group has a bit of a steep hike up the mountain. Ching Lung gets a group photo as they climb some stone steps. Le Chien then asks Yu Chen how it feels to be on one of their adventures as this is the first time that Ching Lung has managed to drag him along. Yu Chen says that it’s quite nice but his boyfriend calls him a liar saying that Yu Chen didn’t even want to come out this morning.
The group gets to a nice viewpoint where they stop to rest. Ching Lung still filming reminds their followers to like and subscribe to their channel for more content. Amber starts taking pictures of the scenery but a moment later starts taking pictures of his crush Le Chien.
Le Chien convinces Amber to come closer so he can get a picture to them together in a selfies with his phone. Ching Lung then gets everyone together for a group shot. Then it’s back to hiking in the forest.
They seem to be a bit lost though and going around in circles. Ching Lung tries to point it out but no one listens to him. A little more walking, then the group figures it out. Ching Lung is tired and none of them were prepared for an actual hike. The group tries to figure out what went wrong. Ching Lung wonders out loud if the map is fake which offends both Le Chien and Amber. The two defend the Grandma’s integrity saying that she would never give them a fake map.
Yu Chen suggests that maybe A’Rong doesn’t want them to find the Comeback Nunnery, which freaks out Ching Lung. Le Chien notes that the sun is going to set soon, so if they keep wandering around they will definitely get lost however, if they start heading back now.. it will be dark before they are halfway back. The group decides that it’s safer to set up camp for the night then return home in the morning.
Most of the group packed snacks, so no one is going to go to bed hungry. Yu Chen says that if he knew they were going to spend the night, he would have packed more food. Amber is impressed that Le Chien packed so much, Ching Lung says that Le Chien is an avid hiker so he has tons of stuff.. lighter, first aid kit, etc..
It turns out that Yu He made the sandwiches in Le Chien’s bag. Le Chien says that his dad loved outdoor activities so he picked up a lot of from him before Le Chien’s died. Amber says that the guys are pretty close, so Le Chien tells him that they were childhood friends. The conversation then turns toward the Comeback Nunnery and Lone Light Ridge.
Le Chien says that if everyone in love could just get married then there would be a lot less sad stories. Ching Lung says that people in love belong together but unfortunately there are too many people that created a bunch of ridiculous structures, which is why there are so many sad stories. Yu Chen says that it’s sad that because of their different status, the couple decided to end their lives.
Ching Lung wonders if maybe the couple in the story were both men and maybe that’s why they weren’t accepted by the world. Ching Lung says that would explain why the temple wasn’t preserved, because if the couple were classic male and female.. then people should have had sympathy for the couple. (Someone underestimates the classism).
Amber agrees that it would make sense if A’Rong was a male because a woman would weigh less, so the rope shouldn’t have broken (seriously??) he then says that it was odd that a woman would build a temple by herself (oh Amber.. I love you but please stop). The group comes to the conclusion that no matter what the story, the couple has probably reincarnated by now and are a happy couple now. The conversation changes to talk about past lives, and Yu Chen teases Ching Lung about who he might have been.
Later that night, Amber and Le Chien are getting ready to go to sleep when they hear a noise. The two decide to do what every couple do when they hear a strange noise at night.. and decide to go check it out. (Who packed all the lamps for the camp?) Amber has a flashlight so they start walking towards the sound.. which is when Amber trips, losing the flashlight. Amber isn’t hurt but Le Chien has a cut on his leg so it’s back to the camp for a little bit of first aid.
Le Chien just wants to rinse the wound, but Amber points out that they don’t know what caused the cut so it’s better to put some ointment on it. Le Chien agrees but shushes Amber as the other two members of their group are sleeping. Ching Lung however has woken up and caught the tender moment between the two on film.
Ching Lung says that they must milk the moment for all its worth because the rest of the footage for that day is useless. Ching Lung starts repositioning the two of them a bit and giving directions to make it more like a scene straight out of a BL. Le Chien is really annoyed at first but eventually plays along, there’s even a genuine smile throw in there.
Le Chien wakes up first that morning and notices that Amber is shivering. Le Chien uses his coat to cover Amber, so the shivering stops.
Back in the mini van, Ching Lung complains that he’s hungry so Yu Chen promises that they will get some food once they leave the mountain. Amber thinks about the visit with Grandma Hou Shan.
In a flashback to when Amber and Le Chien were visiting Granma Hou Shan. Le Chien has left first and gone ahead so Grandma Hou Shan talks to Amber alone. She tells Amber that if he doesn’t have a sincere heart then he won’t find it. Grandma Hou Shan also tells Amber that he should go and fulfill his unfulfilled wish. That’s when Amber notices the bird on her coat.. it’s a swallow! Amber figured out that she is A’Rong!
Roll those end credits! That’s the end of DNA Says Love You: Episode 3!
