Does Dolly Parton own Silver Dollar City? ›

One of my favorite hidden-gem theme parks is Silver Dollar City, nestled in the Ozark Mountains in Branson, Missouri. It's a sister park to one of my other favorites, Dollywood. Both are owned by Herschend Family Entertainment, though Silver Dollar City opened first in 1960.

A few months ago, we told you about a legendary ride closing its doors for good at Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri. It was called Fire In the Hole. The coaster was a mainstay attraction for millions of families over the decades it operated at the theme park.

Arrive early! Each operating day, March through October, no matter when the The City opens, ticket booths, turnstiles and The Square open at 8:30am. Get your photo in front of the iconic Silver Dollar City Log & Ax, then pick up any stroller or ECV rentals you have reserved.

You are welcome to bring a backpack into the park. Lockers are located throughout the park, and there are specified areas at each ride where bags and other loose items can be left while you ride.
