The creature that is created is Bella Baxter (Stone) whose infant mind develops impossibly quickly as she awakens to life in an adult body. Bella yearns for freedom, taking off on an around-the-world journey of self-discovery with disreputable lawyer Duncan Wedderburn (Mark Ruffalo). Bella discovers that the more she matures, the more the men around her want to keep her sheltered and innocent, and she’s simply having none of that.

Emma Stone is a joy to watch in this highly dynamic role full of dark, weird humor.
